preparedness and safety tips. Well, you never know about the exact time or date
of a natural disaster, however, you should prepare yourself and emergency tools
for an emergency. Here is a list of necessary emergency tools you do need
during a typhoon season and evacuation period.
Water
Water is one
of the essential things in our lives. However, we sometimes forget the
importance of water when a storm hits us. After a typhoon, you do not know
whether the tap water is pure or contaminated. Well, after a tornado, do not
use tap water for some days. Moreover, you can use tap water after a typhoon,
when the local govt announces it clean and pure. Otherwise, when a tornado hits
an area, the public has contaminated water all around. And, they have
contaminated water in the taps after a typhoon. However, buy a water purifier
before the season of a tornado. Moreover, you can store water at your home. You
can store water in water drums and bathtubs. Avoid tap water for a few days
after a typhoon hits your area. Store at least one-gallon water person per day.
Emergency Food

Well, food is
also necessary for your life, just like water. Start stocking up non-perishable
and quick to cook food items for an emergency. In the case of an emergency, you
might have to evacuate your place, or you may get a home lock. However, you
should have a stock of food for you and your family. Stock canned soups,
shrimps, frozen meals, oatmeal, corn flakes, and easy to cook food items. Store
your food items in the pantry. Moreover, stock up the food according to per
person in your family. If someone in your family is sick, stock up the food
according to his medicines and health issues.
Emergency Lights

When a
natural disaster hits, we will face a power cut instantly. However, we should
have emergency lights in our homes all the time. Lanterns are the best solution
for an emergency. Moreover, you should have solar charging lights, cellular
lights, and charged light at your homes. However, you can use a candle for a
short time. It is a good idea to have candles at your home all the time.
Moreover, you should have 2 or 3 extra lighters in your homes.
Blankets and Heating System
During a
flood or storm, you will have to stay warm and make your home warm. Well, you
should have extra blankets, rain boots, shawls, raincoats, hoodies, ponchos,
and waders. Moreover, you should have tools to heat your home during an
electricity cut. Store some woods for heating your home when you cannot use
electric heaters.
Personal Hygiene Products
When you have
a flood or storm, you cannot go out. You cannot market or a medical store
during an emergency. However, you should store your hygiene products at home.
Moreover, you should have an extra dose of medicines if someone is ill. Store
soaps, shampoos, tissues, wipes, personal hygiene kit, laundry soaps, surf
powder, and any other hygiene product at home.
Some other
things which should be necessary for your preparation list are:
